Just to keep things in perspective, a $90,000 mortgage at 5% for 30 years would have a
principal and interest payment of about $489...when rates go back up to 6%, that $489
payment will let you borrow only $80,700...when rates go up to 6.5% the same payment
will be for a loan of only $76,700, so unless you can save an extra $10,000-$15,000
before rates begin climbing again, please consider looking at homes today as a
possibility.
A mere 1% rate increase could wipe out a year's worth (or more) of saving extra
money...keep that in mind as you save up for your home and call me if you have any
questions about whether now is the best time to act.
